POSITION SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for assigned properties, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Review and interpret financial documents to apply accounting and reporting standards effectively.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable, including aging reports, unapplied cash, and bad debt allowances.
  • Timely approval of accounts payable to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Collaborate with field teams to resolve any receivable and payable discrepancies efficiently.
  • Conduct reviews of commercial lease charges and perform reconciliations for common area maintenance (CAM).
  • Analyze capital expenditure accounts and manage reserve applications in accordance with loan agreements.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting documentation for assigned accounts.
  • Review bank reconciliations and address any reconciling items promptly.
  • Oversee general ledger activities for properties within the assigned portfolio.
  • Independently prepare monthly closing work papers, including variance analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through effective communication with operations and finance teams.
  • Generate monthly reports as required, including those for investors and lenders.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial statements and lender reports.
  • Compile necessary work papers for annual audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
  • Review tax returns prepared by external CPAs as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in general accounting, property accounting, or public accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Yardi software is advantageous.
