Job Title: Application Architect/Technical Lead

UMB Financial Corporation is seeking an experienced Application Architect/Technical Lead to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading financial institution and contribute to the development of innovative card-related solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute technical strategy for card-related solutions to align with the product and business strategy.
  • Lead and drive solution recommendations using gap analyses across multiple technology options.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for UMB's enterprise and card processor system.
  • Interact with the vendor team to resolve technical issues and serve as a technical point of contact.
  • Maintain strong relationships with other teams within the technology organization to partner and collaborate during problem resolutions.
  • Participate in ongoing system upgrades and patches as needed.
  • Deliver on 'Business As Usual' (BAU) commitments as outlined on the BAU Roadmap.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to team members.
  • Perform additional application architecture duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Seven years' progressive experience which must include experience in the following, concurrently:
  • Software development including system architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in SOA.
  • TSYS card processing platform.
  • Web Services architectures, system integrations and implementation.
  • Executing complex solutions from design through implementation.
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Banking Payments domain and understanding of complex technical aspects of the holistic card processing system including but not limited to data flows, batch processing, integrations and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand risk and impact to business processes during production issues.
