Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at John Hinderer Honda. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our Controller and contributing to the success of our accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of accounting tasks, including managing inventory and fixed assets, compiling and posting accruals and journal entries, and conducting cash reconciliations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and sub-ledgers by maintaining proper documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Assist in the monthly close process, including generating affiliate and departmental financial statements, and reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce detailed financial and management reports for decision-making purposes.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Maintain and update procedure documentation for accounting processes.
  • Support payroll management, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper processing and reconciliation.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Controller on special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of related accounting experience, preferably in the automotive or retail industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and independently draw logical conclusions.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for continuous improvement.
