The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring exceptional service and care for patients within the healthcare environment. This position involves close collaboration with clinical staff to deliver high-quality support and assistance to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Conduct outbound communications to current and former patients for scheduling follow-up appointments and consultations.
- Collect and manage patient intake forms while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring a smooth process.
- Perform benefit verifications and obtain necessary authorizations for insurance coverage.
- Provide initial support to patients, addressing inquiries and managing check-in/check-out processes.
- Process payments and handle repairs under the guidance of licensed professionals.
- Prepare financial deposits and submit daily reports to the finance department.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and monitoring supplies.
- Participate in community outreach events, contributing to at least one event per month.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to build relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and clinical staff.
- Knowledge of hearing aids and related products is advantageous.
