Job Title: Sr. DSP/Communications Engineer

About the Role:

Rincon Research Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital signal processing and communications systems for various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop digital signal processing algorithms for CPU, GPU, and FPGA platforms.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
  • Apply engineering, software, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles to develop system solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and overall system design.
  • Develop test procedures and related documentation.
  • Communicate technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience with high-level languages for signal processing algorithm development, such as Python, MATLAB, or X-Midas.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Design and implementation of digital signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience with signal processing on CPU, GPU, and FPGA platforms.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and come up-to-speed with complex code bases/designs.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: satellite communications, cellular communications systems, modern wireless protocols, modern modulation schemes, modem design, coding theory and techniques, RF system design, radar/sonar/LIDAR, electronic warfare, novel signal processing algorithm development, signal geolocation, signal conditioning, interference canceling, statistical signal processing techniques, array processing and beamforming.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • Ability to lead teams of 2-3 multidisciplinary engineers/scientists.
  • Demonstrated experience in participating as a technical contributor to business capture.
  • Ability to serve as technical advisor to Program Managers regarding work estimation, staff assignments, and program execution.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree in EE or related field (applied math, physics, etc).
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Strong software implementation background.

Location:

This position is located at either our Centennial, CO or Chantilly, VA office.
