POSITION SUMMARY
This role is essential for orchestrating the planning and acquisition of materials tailored to specific production requirements. The individual will oversee inventory management, generate forecasts, arrange transportation logistics, and confirm supplier orders in alignment with customer timelines. Additionally, they will track orders and maintain communication with both internal and external stakeholders on a weekly basis.
- Process incoming materials through purchase orders (POs) from the ERP system, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of components in accordance with production schedules.
- Facilitate the expediting and rescheduling of open POs to align with production demands.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters, order policies, and safety stock levels within the ERP system.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing professional support and addressing inquiries effectively.
- Analyze historical data, including sales trends and demand drivers, to assess material delivery performance and spending.
- Investigate discrepancies and communicate findings to both internal and external supply chain partners.
- Utilize and update ERP system data as the primary tool for planning activities.
- Monitor and ensure the timely delivery of raw materials to meet production timelines.
- Contribute to the development of departmental strategies regarding inventory management for existing products, new introductions, and phase-outs.
- Enhance collaboration among production planners, sales teams, production supervisors, and quality assurance to optimize forecasting processes.
- Implement systems and methodologies to improve forecasting accuracy, enabling better anticipation of customer needs.
- Execute replenishment strategies effectively, providing insights to the supply chain regarding potential risks.
- Prepare necessary customs documentation for shipments.
- Formulate delivery plans to fulfill customer requirements.
- Determine appropriate HTS Codes for new products to ensure accurate duty and tax assessments.
- Track and manage in-transit shipments from suppliers to the plant location.
- Coordinate and quote logistics for trucking services while adhering to budget constraints.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Plex ERP system is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative team player capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment, sound judgment, and initiative.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
