Job SummaryAs a skilled Physician Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a physician. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive physical exams, providing treatment, and counseling patients to ensure optimal health outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a valid DEA registration and remain in good standing with the Oregon Medical Board and local hospitals.
  • Perform comprehensive physical exams, interpret diagnostic results, and formulate treatment plans for orthopedic problems within your scope of practice.
  • Order and perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures, including blood and tissue specimens, EMG, X-ray, CT, MRI, and bone scans.
  • Assist in surgery, conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients.
  • Take calls as assigned by the group and perform procedures such as digital blocks, minor outpatient surgical procedures, wound management, and fracture care.
  • Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medications, orthosis, orthotics, braces, and other orthopedic devices as needed within your scope of practice.
  • Promptly complete and maintain medical and billing records.
  • Encourage and participate in education seminars, professional meetings, and organized professional activities approved by the employer.
  • Work harmoniously with others and notify the Director of Clinical Services of any defective or inoperative equipment.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and active listening skills. You should also have critical thinking and judgement skills, as well as the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

You should have a fifth year college or university program certificate, or two to four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Oregon Occupational Therapy license, CHT, is also required.
