Our Early Childhood Education program serves children aged 2 to 4 from low-income backgrounds in Chelsea and surrounding areas. We welcome educators of all experience levels, from recent graduates to seasoned professionals, to contribute to a supportive and collaborative learning atmosphere. Our curriculum adheres to DOH Article 47 standards, promoting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.

Note: Our Early Childhood Education program operates year-round.

Qualifications Required:
  • Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2); Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6 (N-6); Special Education (Birth-Grade 2)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline
  • Availability for a full-time, 8-hour workday, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English, Mandarin/English, or Cantonese/English
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with classroom personnel to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Oversee classroom staff, including assistant teachers, aides, volunteers, and therapists
  • Create lesson plans aligned with the Creative Curriculum and Common Core Standards
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding children's development and progress, demonstrating cultural sensitivity
  • Identify children with special needs and facilitate appropriate referrals
  • Maintain accurate documentation for each child, including assessments, monthly observations, and home visits
  • Regularly update and enhance the classroom environment
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, monthly training sessions, and ongoing professional development
  • Adhere to guidelines set by governing agencies, including the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Head Start, Administration for Children's Services, and Universal Pre-Kindergarten
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
