Job Overview

Position Objective

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional service of food and beverages, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. This includes taking orders and delivering items in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner, contributing to high levels of guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the dining area before, during, and after shifts, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup in accordance with hotel standards. Uphold uniform and grooming standards while promoting safety through proper use of food service equipment.
  • Train new and existing staff on service techniques, side duties, check controls, cost-saving measures, and hotel policies.
  • Welcome guests promptly and courteously, adhering to hotel service standards, and provide information on specials and promotions.
  • Accurately record guest orders, confirming details to ensure correctness, and input orders into the point-of-sale system for kitchen notification.

Order Fulfillment

  • Retrieve completed orders from the kitchen, verify accuracy, and deliver to guests, following service protocols and including necessary condiments. Adhere to all regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Monitor beverage levels and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
  • Promote and serve beverages, desserts, after-dinner drinks, or specialty coffees as requested.
  • Verify guest checks for accuracy and present them promptly, processing payments efficiently.

Additional Duties

  • Assist with cleaning and resetting tables as needed.
  • Complete assigned side work, including restocking condiments and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks in compliance with health standards, ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
  • Support buffet setup and breakdown as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Familiarity with appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remember and promote menu items effectively.
  • Competence in operating beverage and food service equipment.
  • Basic proficiency in using point-of-sale systems for order processing.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 30 lbs regularly.
  • Prior experience in hospitality is preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in varying temperatures and maintain a professional appearance at all times. Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Safety and Compliance

Personal protective equipment may be necessary when performing certain tasks. Team members are expected to report any issues with equipment or safety gear to management.
