Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager of Environmental Health and Safety plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of our workforce. This position is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing safety standards and environmental practices, while actively working to mitigate workplace risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee safety committees to promote employee engagement.
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on environmental health and safety.
- Facilitate communication strategies to cultivate a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance during investigations of incidents and manage change processes effectively.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and oversee related compliance programs.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline is required, along with 5-8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in project management and problem-solving techniques. A comprehensive understanding of safety protocols, training methodologies, and workers' compensation practices is necessary.

Physical Requirements:
