Job Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for conducting various cardiological tests, ensuring patient comfort, and recording results. This role involves maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and staying current with advancements in the field.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs), phonocardiograms, echocardiograms, and stress tests using electronic equipment.
Ensure patient comfort by addressing questions and concerns regarding tests.
Record results of cardiological tests and consult with the physician on duty to schedule any necessary follow-up tests.
Assist physicians during non-invasive cardiological procedures by monitoring patients' heart rates and alerting them to abnormal readings.
Maintain cardiological equipment and supplies through daily cleaning and adjustments.
Record supply inventory levels and restock the supply storeroom as needed.
Troubleshoot issues with cardiological equipment and report any malfunctions to superiors.
Stay up-to-date with developments in cardiology by attending conferences and participating in research projects.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology.
At least 2 years of experience working as a cardiology technician.
Excellent knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, diagnoses, and treatments.
Proficiency in using cardiological equipment, such as EKG machinery.
Proven ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Solid understanding of professional medical standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
Strong teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate with co-workers.
Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
