Role Overview:
The Radiation Therapist is accountable for executing safe and effective patient simulations and administering ionizing radiation as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.

The Radiation Therapist exemplifies and promotes service excellence consistently and is an integral member of the comprehensive team responsible for the care of oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepares patients and administers radiation treatments as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
+ Educates patients continuously from their simulation through the completion of their treatment.
+ Provides necessary immobilization when required.
+ Ensures safety measures are followed according to prescribed standards.
+ Calculates treatment durations for optimal patient flow while accommodating patient schedules.
Qualifications -
Essential qualifications for success:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Current Florida Radiation Therapist license is mandatory.
  • Must be a Registered Radiation Therapist or registry eligible (ARRT), with the exam completed within 30 days.
  • BLS certification is required.
