Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate to join our dynamic team at Jobot. As a key member of our Employment Law Practice Group, you will provide expert advice and representation to management and employers in a wide range of employment law matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on all facets of employment law, including employee hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination
  • Provide guidance on wage and hour compliance, employee classification issues, and discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, and retaliation claims
  • Protect clients' trade secrets and competitive information, and manage leaves (family, disability, medical, etc.)
  • Handle reductions in force and ensure compliance with the WARN Act
  • Conduct policy and compliance audits, strategic workforce training, and timely workplace investigations
  • Draft and review Independent Contractor Agreements, Employment Agreements, Incentive and Discretionary Compensation Plans, Separation and Release Agreements, NDAs, and offer counsel on noncompetes and nonsolicitation agreements
  • Investigate and audit claims with governmental agencies, such as the DFEH/DLSE and EDD, and represent clients in arbitration, federal and state courts, and class action matters
Requirements
  • California-barred attorney with a passion for employment law
  • Experience in representing management and employers in employment law matters
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, including wage and hour compliance, employee classification issues, and discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, and retaliation claims
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
