Position Overview
The Fleet Maintenance Operations Manager Trainee will play a pivotal role in supporting shop management functions while driving initiatives focused on cost efficiency, customer loyalty, and performance metrics. This position requires collaboration across various departments including Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental Management. The program is designed to be dynamic and will provide exposure to all facets of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of industry practices and gain essential skills in operations and fleet maintenance.
- Drive customer relationship management by ensuring high-quality service and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the rental team to maximize asset utilization while maintaining service standards.
- Partner with Sales to enhance customer engagement and explore new business opportunities.
- Manage operational costs and maintenance expenses while adhering to company policies.
- Ensure timely preventive maintenance scheduling and follow-ups, including vehicle status updates and technician planning.
Additional Duties
- Relocation within the business unit may be necessary upon completion of the training program.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Preferred experience includes at least one year in customer service with a focus on issue resolution.
Skills and Competencies
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster professional relationships across all organizational levels.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in PC applications, including spreadsheets and word processing.
- Basic understanding of business finance and metrics is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Ryder offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $63,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off for various needs.
