About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Programmer Apprentice to join our team at Interstates. As an Applications Programmer Apprentice, you will play a key role in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications for industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in writing, maintaining, and debugging code for industrial automation software.
  • Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to control and monitor industrial processes.
  • Participate in software testing, validation, and quality assurance, including writing and executing test cases.
  • Collaborate with the development team and cross-functional teams to meet project requirements.
  • Continuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • No experience required.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI programming is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and environments.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
