Job Summary

The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health at The California State University is seeking applications for a Part-Time Lecturer Pool. The pool will be used to fill temporary faculty positions in Kinesiology and Physical Activity courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate Kinesiology, general education, and/or physical activity courses.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for courses in Kinesiology and Physical Activity.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Psychology, or closely related discipline preferred.
  • Certification in personal training, fitness instructor, swimming instructor, strength and conditioning, exercise specialist, and/or registered clinical exercise physiologist preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in college teaching and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Appropriate certification and/or licensure.

Special Conditions

  • Background check required.
  • Must be available to teach on short notice.

The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health is a major academic unit within the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics. It offers a BS degree in Kinesiology and a BS degree in Public Health to approximately 500 undergraduate students.
