Job Title: Direct Support Staff

About the Role:

Vera French Community Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Staff to join our team. As a Direct Support Staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with daily living skills, promoting physical and emotional health, and providing protective oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach or maintain client skills dependent on client needs
  • Provide protective oversight and supervision
  • Document services and communicate regularly with others to ensure continuity of care
  • Work with clients on various goals
  • Transport clients to appointments, jobs, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) is required
  • Every other weekend availability
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that will allow insurability
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen
  • Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred

Shift Times:

  • Full-time, part-time, and PRN (as needed) positions
  • Three shifts, with float positions available
