About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Staff to join our team at Vera French Community Mental Health Center. As a Direct Support Staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with daily living skills, promoting physical and emotional health, and providing protective oversight and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide interventions to teach or maintain client skills, dependent on client needs
  • Ensure client safety and foster a supportive environment
  • Document services and communicate regularly with others to ensure continuity of care
  • Transport clients to appointments, jobs, and other activities
  • Assist with daily activities and support clients in achieving their goals
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required
  • Every other weekend availability
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that will allow insurability
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen
  • Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill population preferred
