Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Detentions Security Specialist to join our team at Clear Creek County, Colorado. As a key member of our detention facility staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our inmates, detainees, visitors, and employees.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce county laws, state and federal statutes, and maintain the security of the jail by ensuring all inmates are adequately confined.
- Maintain the safety of inmates, detainees, visitors, and employees by monitoring their activities and providing assistance as needed.
- Book in and bond out prisoners as necessary, maintaining accurate records and updating inmate information on a regular basis.
- Administer prescribed and non-prescribed medications according to doctor's or nurse's instructions.
- Log all information regarding inmates, accurately reflecting their activities and updates.
- Inspect cellblocks, kitchen, and work areas regularly to ensure they meet safety and security standards.
- Operate two-way radios, fingerprint machines, breath testing devices, computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, and other equipment related to the jail.
- Transport inmates to and from court, other penal institutions, or medical appointments, recording all transportation transactions.
- Maintain the transportation vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Act as court bailiff as required and may be called upon to testify in court or hearings.
- Supervise inmate workers during inside and outside work activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 21 years of age.
- Requires a level of knowledge and ability to independently accomplish tasks or projects of typical complexity in a consistent and accurate manner and in a variety of situations.
- At least one year of law enforcement experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A valid Colorado Driver's License.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Colorado POST certification desired.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, Spanish, or other foreign languages helpful.
Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $67,930 to $81,568 DOQ and a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement, health, dental, vision, wellness, voluntary life, critical illness, accident and hospital insurance, life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, PTO, sick leave, and education assistance.
