Role Summary:

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival, ensuring a positive and memorable experience. Efficiently manage the seating process, taking reservations and accommodating special requests whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warmly greet all guests upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Check coats or bags, providing a convenient and secure service.
  • Answer phones, make reservations, and take messages, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting times, keeping them informed and engaged.
  • Take note of waiting guests and seat them promptly when tables become available.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous attitude, even in challenging situations.
  • Accommodate special seating requests, demonstrating flexibility and a customer-centric approach.
  • Seat guests based on preferences and balancing customer flow, ensuring a smooth dining experience.
  • Relay guest notes to servers, kitchen, and managers as needed, fostering effective communication.
  • Maintain supplies at the host stand, adhering to restaurant checklists.
  • Print menus and beverage lists as needed, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Clean menus of food and stains, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Thank guests as they leave, inviting them to return and build loyalty.
  • Process gift cards, providing a convenient and secure service.
  • Be available to fill in as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager.
Requirements:
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and listening skills are essential for success in this role.
  • A pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance are necessary for creating a positive guest experience.
  • Self-motivation and a willingness to take on additional roles and responsibilities are key qualities for this position.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds, reach, bend, and stoop.
