Position Details

Location: Various offices in the Metro Atlanta area

Job Type: PRN; as needed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Accurate Imaging: Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures on patients, ensuring optimal clinical information while minimizing radiation exposure. Follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to maintain image quality.
  • Patient-Focused Service: Ensure excellence in patient service by guiding individuals through the imaging process, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
  • Safety and Hygiene Maintenance: Uphold a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Image and File Management: Manage files and images, including burning CDs, importing or scanning images from external facilities, and exporting images using HIPAA-compliant methods.
  • Support for Patients and Providers: Address requests from patients and healthcare providers for images and CDs, ensuring accurate documentation in patient and departmental records.
  • Organized Imaging Rooms: Maintain order in imaging rooms, schedule equipment maintenance, and ensure efficient operations.
  • Ongoing Education: Stay informed about the latest advancements in the field and enhance your professional knowledge through continuing education.
  • Collaborative Team Member: Be ready to assist at satellite clinics as needed and support clinical staff, fostering a cooperative work environment.
  • Digital Imaging Expertise: Exhibit proficiency in digital imaging systems to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of a minimum 2-year accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • X-ray Experience: At least 1 year of X-ray experience in a fast-paced orthopedic setting, either as a technician or student extern.
  • Certifications: Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Life Support Certification: Hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Commitment to Continuing Education: Provide proof of Continuing Education Credits, demonstrating your dedication to staying current in radiologic technology.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This role involves physical activity, including standing, walking, and assisting patients with mobility. You may need to lift up to 50 pounds and manipulate X-ray equipment. The work environment can be moderate to loud due to equipment operation and patient interactions. Exposure to body fluids may occur, with appropriate precautions in place.
