Position Overview for Nutritional Services Cook

The role of the Nutritional Services Cook encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  • Examine menus ahead of meal preparation and execute the cooking process.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols in line with established guidelines.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submit them to the Dietary Manager.
  • Support the setup of the food service production line to ensure timely meal preparation.
  • Implement dietary modifications and new dietary plans as directed by clinical staff.
  • Prepare and serve meals, including bedtime snacks, and provide alternative meals and/or snacks as required.
  • Assist with daily sanitation tasks and maintain adequate stock levels of both staple and non-staple food items, supplies, and equipment.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager and/or VP of Nutritional Services.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of protected health information, encompassing verbal, written, and electronic communications.

Qualifications for Nutritional Services Cook

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in dietary or food service roles
