Café Associate

Job Summary

As a Café Associate at Sam's Club, you will play a vital role in preparing fresh food items daily for our members. Your responsibilities will include following recipes, preparing our always warm and ready rotisserie chicken, and ensuring our members have the freshest items available to take home to their families. You will also be responsible for sweeping, labeling, and storing merchandise, as well as helping members with their bakery orders. Your smile can make the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh food items daily, following recipes and ensuring high-quality products are available in our prepared foods area.
• Maintain the Sales Floor in accordance with Company policies and procedures, including properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages.
• Prepare and serve ready-to-eat food, ensuring temperature control and verifying expiration dates.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and member-ready area, adhering to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.

What You'll Do...

• Be a Team Member: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
• Be an Expert: Prepare food according to item specifications, understand and plan future productions and mass productions, and adhere to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
• Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement, utilizing handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
• Be an Owner: Drive the performance of the area, utilizing digital tools, managing high exposure and expectations, and stocking and rotating merchandise.
• Be a Talent Ambassador: Be an advocate for the department and the club, valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products.
