Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Amazon HQ2. As a Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, executing our Specialty Coffee and Beverage Programs, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a warm and inviting attitude, guiding customers through menus and making recommendations.
  • Develop professional relationships with customers, knowing their preferences and ordering habits.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and hygienic, including blenders, beverage machinery, tables, shelves, floors, tools, and implements.
  • Articulately describe the tasting notes of specialty beverages to customers.
  • Regularly taste coffee and tea beverages to maintain quality standards.
  • Demonstrate skill in basic latte art.
  • Master Point of Sale and other applications.
  • Maintain 100% accuracy when completing customer transactions and handling money.
  • Complete checklists, including opening, closing, and cleaning procedures, to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Package food and doughnut orders neatly and quickly, adhering to packing guidelines.
  • Learn menus and stay up-to-date on changes to effectively communicate ingredients to customers.
  • Ensure all food and drink meet food safety and quality standards, preventing cross-contamination.
  • Check product quality and maintain FIFO (first in, first out) standards, notifying supervisors of non-conformance.
  • Receive and help put away inventory items, such as paper goods, coffee, milk, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness, including FOH, patio, bathrooms, table-tops, chairs, floors.
  • Remove trash and recycling materials as needed, ensuring proper disposal in dumpsters.
  • Work with the team to complete weekly/monthly cleaning and maintenance schedules of beverage-related equipment.
  • Adhere to food safety laws and standards.
  • Be punctual and dependable.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with the team and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Food Handler Certification (obtain within 90 days of start).
  • Ability to follow recipes.
  • Ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of a team.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to stoop and reach overhead at or above shoulder height.
  • Possess fine motor dexterity.
  • Fluency in English (read and communicate).
