About the RoleThe Health and Safety Specialist at EDAG, Inc. will play a critical role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs.
Responsibilities- Safety Program Support: Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety standards.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Support the investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and contribute to the preparation of incident reports.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal HSE regulations and company policies, staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations.
- Training and Education: Participate in delivering HSE training programs to employees, including safety orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training sessions.
- Risk Assessments: Assist in conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze HSE data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Audit and Inspection Support: Participate in internal audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with HSE standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and other HSE-related documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of HSE processes and programs by providing feedback and suggestions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Internship experience or coursework related to HSE is preferred but not required.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification is a plus. Willingness to pursue additional certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER) is encouraged.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with HSE management software is a plus.
- Work Ethic: A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Competitive Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
