Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, achieving high-quality images, and maintaining patient safety.

About the Role
  • This is a variable shift position in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging department at Tuomey Hospital.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate MRI equipment to achieve high-quality images, following established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Maintain patient safety by identifying potential risks and taking necessary precautions.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff regarding MRI procedures, sedation needs, and magnet safety.
  4. Prepare scan rooms for procedures, discarding sharps and maintaining supplies as needed.
  5. Administer contrast materials associated with MRI procedures, within scope of practice and approved Radiology protocol.
  6. Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
  7. Perform computer functions related to job duties, entering and recording data accurately and promptly.
  8. Stay up-to-date on organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes/updates.
  9. Provide clinical instruction to staff technologists and students, as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI, or ARRT registered in MRI, or ARMRIT-American Registry of MRI certification.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an MRI department.
  • Proficiency in office equipment and computer software.
Salary

$63,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on experience.
