Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Subcontracts Manager II to join our team at Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. This role will involve working closely with our Space Systems line of business to source potential suppliers, negotiate subcontracts, and manage aspects of cost, quality, schedule, financial, and technical performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct the procurement process from sourcing to ordering to fulfill business needs and provide valued services to internal customers in compliance with General Procurement procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify supplier risks and propose mitigation actions, and assist in the development of suppliers when necessary.
  • Track and manage supplier contractual milestones, including supplier engineering specification schedule, supplier procurement schedule, supplier manufacturing schedule, and supplier delivery schedule.
  • Reconcile invoice discrepancies and approve invoices for payment after validation with stakeholders.
  • Reinforce contractual coverage, define, and implement supplier scorecards/KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods/work-packages (services) matching Airbus U.S. requirements and business objectives.
  • Participate in the development of Statements of Work and lead RFP/Q process, including requests for ROMs.
  • Develop base intelligence strategies to ensure the company benefits from the latest supply offering.
  • Bring innovative solutions to maximize value proposition for products and bid opportunities.
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Management, or Business, Accounting.
  • 5 to 10 years of procurement experience in the U.S. Defense environment, with at least 5 years' experience sourcing suppliers, including evaluation of suppliers and development of Requests for Proposals.
  • Basic knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner effectively across multiple levels.
  • Be team-minded and ready to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural, fast-moving and complex/technical environment.
  • Flexible attitude and strong initiative.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal/writing), and presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
  • Must be able to organize, forecast, establish, implement, and execute goals.
  • Experience leading large subcontracts.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • US Citizenship: current U.S. passport recommended.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level required.
