Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Per Diem Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at The University of Miami. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for compounding and dispensing medications, as well as providing exceptional patient care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compounding and Dispensing: Compound and dispense medications, as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
  • Patient Care: Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage. Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records, such as pharmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
  • Customer Service: Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.
Requirements
  • Education: Pharm.D. degree
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Certifications: Certification in relevant specialty or field
  • Skills: Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
