We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a sterile operative field and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist healthcare practitioners during surgery, positioning patients for treatment or examination, and protecting patients or staff members using safety equipment.
  • Orient new staff to the unit and specific specialty, maintaining a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested, including maintaining inventory of medical supplies or equipment and reporting environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol.
Requirements
  • Certification required or LPN with surgical tech experience.
  • BLS certification is to be obtained prior to independently caring for patients and is to be kept current.
  • Graduate of an approved Certified Surgical Technician Program, or other approved technical program (i.e. military training).
Working Conditions

Lifting, moving and loading 30 to 50 pounds. Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
