Job Overview

Position: Maintenance/Janitorial/Custodian

Location: Venice, FL

Employment Type: Part-Time

Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour

Work Schedule:

This role requires a commitment of 16 hours per week, ideally during the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the golf cart is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the premises, reporting any maintenance concerns to the designated Board member.
  • Regularly empty waste receptacles in communal areas such as the Clubhouse, restrooms, and pool vicinity, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of restrooms on a daily basis, including sanitizing toilets, vanities, and mirrors; sweeping and mopping floors; and replenishing soap and towel dispensers.
  • Execute weekly vacuuming of the Clubhouse.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pool deck furniture bi-weekly, ensuring removal of dirt, sunscreen, oil, and makeup.
  • Inspect dumpster areas weekly, clearing any litter and managing recycling bins.
  • Prepare cardboard for disposal and ensure trash bags are properly positioned in the dumpster.
  • Facilitate trash area access each Tuesday morning for collection services.
  • Attend to the gazebo as required.
  • Utilize pressure spraying techniques to eliminate mold and moss from walkways and building exteriors.
  • Remove pests such as mud daubers, bees' nests, and spider webs from shared spaces.
  • Replace dead plants in courtyards and surrounding areas as necessary.
  • Change light bulbs and perform minor repairs on exterior lighting fixtures.
  • Paint and repair all exterior light poles, stairways, fences, railings, and moldings around Association buildings.
  • Review maintenance requests from residents, scheduling appropriate tasks and referring any outside of job scope.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting, cleaning, and maintenance tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with custodial tools, equipment, and professional-grade materials.
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
