Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Weekend Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Lawrence, Kansas facility. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all plant equipment and facilities to ensure customer satisfaction and support the manufacturing of Kibbles 'n Bits.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety

Requirements:

  • Possess a high school diploma or a GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills
  • A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality
  • Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms, and various equipment
  • Able to lift objects up to 60 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive starting rate of $34.75 per hour, shift premiums up to $1.50 per hour, and a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development.
