About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician to join our Turbomachinery Shop team at Linde Engineering North America LLC. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of turbomachinery equipment within our facilities at the lowest life cycle cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Turbomachinery Shop assembly and testing activities
  • Inspect, disassemble, assemble, and test new or repaired Expansion Turbines and Centrifugal Compressors
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
  • Study parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to rebuild equipment
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of work
  • Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
  • Fabricate and assemble new or modified parts to repair turbomachinery equipment
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts with the help of engineering
  • Prepare working dimensional sketches for machining and assembly QA purposes
Requirements
  • Strong focus on Quality and Safety in performing everyday shop tasks
  • Expert use of all precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators
  • Demonstrated use of all hand and power tools used to disassemble or reassemble turbomachinery equipment
  • Experience safely using overhead cranes, jib cranes, and their associated rigging
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills and the proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams
  • Proven experience using computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail, etc.)
