Newborn Hearing Screen Job Description

At Pediatrix Medical Group, we are seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in conducting newborn hearing screens and educating parents about the importance of this critical test.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting
• Educate parents about the importance of the screen and provide video and printed tools for their understanding
• Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results as needed
• Confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments, as required
• Follow up on equipment issues and train new staff members

Requirements:

• Experience working with infants is preferred
• Experience in a hospital setting is also preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
• Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry are required
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments, work independently, and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays is required
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
