Position Overview: Atlantic Health System is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician Instructor to join our team at the Atlantic Training Center. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive training programs for EMTs, ensuring high standards of education and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction for EMT initial training, refresher courses, and continuing education programs.
  • Ensure all course documentation is complete and adheres to NJ OEMS requirements.
  • Follow all policies and educational philosophies set forth by Atlantic Health System and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Travel to various locations for off-site training sessions as necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism and punctuality in all assigned courses, adhering to the dress code.
  • Administer and evaluate assignments and exams promptly, providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Safeguard student confidentiality regarding progress and outcomes, addressing any issues with the Lead or Coordinator.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and submit it in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the security and maintenance of training equipment and materials, ensuring proper restocking and cleaning after classes.
  • Participate in scheduled instructor meetings and updates to enhance teaching practices.
  • Promote a collaborative culture that prioritizes efficient operations and improves patient outcomes in the community.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and students, demonstrating professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current NJ EMT certification, BLS/CPR certification, NJ EMT Instructor certification, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record are required.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred, along with recent clinical experience and a minimum of three years in emergency or critical care settings.
