About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team at Lincoln Financial Group. As a key member of our accounting and reporting team, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements and activities associated with statutory accounting principles and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules according to accounting and reporting calendars.
  • Conduct financial analysis on consolidated and business unit results, providing ongoing support to business unit teams and partners.
  • Participate in accounting close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments in statutory accounting and reporting.
  • Identify and research reporting issues arising from accounting principles and standards, and assess their applicability.
  • Prepare, review, and file quarterly and annual NAIC financial statements and regulatory filings.
  • Promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Identify and communicate process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality.
Requirements
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Years of experience in financial analysis or reporting that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Confident and comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
