Job Description

Community Family Advocates is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Health Program Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and evaluate adult mental health programs to ensure compliance with state regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to behavioral health providers to enhance service delivery and quality.
  • Interpret and implement Allegheny County policies and procedures, advising providers and individuals on applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, ensuring timely and accurate data.
  • Participate in meetings and facilitate discussions to drive policy and programmatic changes.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health providers to resolve problem areas and implement corrective actions.
  • Act as a liaison between provider agencies and state/county administrations, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide resources and support for complex situations, promoting problem resolution and quality improvement.
  • Monitor provider agency allocations and complete incident reporting follow-ups.
  • Develop and deliver training to behavioral health providers, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in implementing new programs and quality improvement initiatives, driving positive change in mental health services.
  • Participate in DHS/OBH committee meetings, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling privileged information.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience working in the behavioral health field.
  • Possess Act 33 and 34 clearances, as well as a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license and access to a personal vehicle for travel within Allegheny County.
  • Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and data serving systems, and a deep understanding of the mental health system.
