As part of our commitment to expanding services, we are pleased to offer a sign-on bonus for the position of Community Support Specialist. This role is essential in connecting families with necessary resources and support.

The Community Support Specialist operates as a vital link between children, their families, and educational institutions, providing tailored services that address the unique needs of each child and family. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, is necessary to accommodate the families we serve. Documentation in collaboration with families is also a key responsibility.

This position begins with training in a community setting and transitions to include responsibilities within the school environment once the required competencies are achieved. School-based specialists will regularly meet with caregivers in their homes to ensure comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a representative for Compass Health Network, fostering relationships with schools and community partners.
  • Provide expert consultation to school staff on mental health issues and strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advocate for the mental health needs of children and families.
  • Deliver personalized behavioral health services based on the strengths and preferences of clients and their families.
  • Assist families in creating and implementing Wellness Plans.
  • Utilize a holistic, strengths-based approach to support clients in achieving their wellness goals.
  • Help families navigate and access community resources and services.
  • Educate clients, families, and school personnel on various topics, including daily living skills and symptom management.
  • Support families in building natural support networks involving family members and school staff.
  • Contribute to the completion of assessments and Wellness Plans as directed.
  • Ensure culturally competent services that respect the diverse backgrounds of clients.
  • Driving is a necessary component of this role.



Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, with a preference for degrees in human services. Experience requirements vary based on educational background, emphasizing the importance of working with individuals facing mental health challenges. A valid driver's license and minimum automobile insurance coverage are also required.
