Job Summary:

The Life Enrichment Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that promote the preservation and enrichment of each resident's quality of life. This role carries out the activity care plan for each resident, integrated with the overall interdisciplinary resident care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resident Activities: 75% of job duties
  • Familiar with the activity plan for each resident
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and conduct such programs with enthusiasm to encourage participation
  • Observe resident responses to activities and accommodate their needs
  • Interact effectively in one-to-one activities according to the resident's strengths and limitations
  • Assist residents with programs and determine suitability for present residents
  • Recommend changes to the supervisor as needed
  • Keep records and documentation as necessary

Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking, while reducing falls, skin tears, and skin breakdown
  • Assist residents at mealtimes, including distributing meal trays, pouring beverages, and/or feeding residents in need of assistance
  • Assist residents to display calendars, pictures, cards, or other mementos
  • Deliver and read mail as needed
  • Help with putting up, taking down, and storing seasonal decorations
  • Maintain a tidy, clutter-free environment
  • Maintain infection control practices
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service classes

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to use a computer, proficiency in Microsoft suite, and ability to input and retrieve data
  • Ability to use electronic health record system
  • Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification
