Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Highmark Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and record complete health histories, including past medical history, obstetrical history, family history, and psychosocial aspects.
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments of newborns and neonates, order and interpret laboratory, radiographic, and clinical data, and plan and document the course of management in collaboration with attending neonatologists.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary for patient care, discriminate between normal, normal variations, and abnormal deviations, and refer patients with abnormal findings to appropriate healthcare services.
- Attend and provide coverage for high-risk deliveries and stabilization of neonates, provide transport coverage for sick neonates as warranted, and initiate emergency evaluation and treatment.
- Coordinate plans of care within the area of specialty, coordinate discharge and transfers, and dictate discharge and transfer summaries.
- Provide support, education, and communication with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and community health services as appropriate.
- Participate in quality assurance projects and NICU committees, and demonstrate effective leadership skills while contributing to department, division, and hospital goals.
- Responsible for professional development and perform other duties as assigned or required.
- MSN from a state board of nursing-approved masters program.
- National board certification in neonatal nursing (NCC) or equivalent.
- Certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) license.
- Registered nurse (RN) license.
- Drug enforcement agency licensure within 60 days of hire.
- Prescriptive authority within 60 days of hire.
- BLS certification.
- Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) certification or instructor certification.
- 1 year of experience in a level III neonatal intensive care unit as a CRNP.
