We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician to fulfill a vital role within our organization. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret physician orders accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and relaying important patient information to pharmacists.
- Assist in scheduling patient appointments for medication delivery and infusion services in collaboration with pharmacists and nursing staff.
- Deliver medications to designated locations as necessary.
- Prepare and organize medications and supplies for specific patient orders, ensuring accurate record-keeping of lot numbers and expiration dates.
- Comply with all relevant accreditation standards, including USP, OSHA, FDA, and Colorado Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Compound sterile medications in a clean room environment, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance in classified areas as per company policies.
- Document all compounding, delivery, and order receipt activities accurately.
- Perform calculations to validate pharmacist orders prior to compounding.
- Manage inventory effectively, including receiving and inputting inventory into the pharmacy system.
- Order and maintain stock levels of supplies, addressing any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Must possess an active Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- IV certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of one year of experience in aseptic compounding is preferred.
- Experience with chemotherapy and hazardous compounding is advantageous.
- Prior experience in home infusion pharmacy is a plus.
The starting wage for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
