Position Summary:

The Vision Products Group (VPG) at Apple is in search of a Senior Applications Engineer to advance the future of interactive computing on our platform.

This team is at the forefront of Apple's most sophisticated technologies in Spatial Computing.

As a senior figure within our organization, you will be tasked with creating applications that inspire, empower, and captivate millions.


Key Responsibilities:
Apple is dedicated to making cutting-edge technologies accessible, crafting exceptional user experiences.

In this role, you will have the chance to prototype innovative solutions at the forefront of technology, discovering optimal experiences for our offerings.

Collaboration with Apple's Human Interface design team will be essential in shaping the next wave of computing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and imaginative setting, demonstrating agility in evaluating the feasibility of concepts and technologies.

A strong grasp of 3D applications and a desire to explore uncharted territories in technology are crucial.

You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers to define and validate new application concepts and user experience paradigms, tackling complex and intriguing challenges in Spatial Computing.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Solid understanding of 3D mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience in software development.
- Proven experience in rapid prototyping.
- Good judgment in balancing time and complexity trade-offs.

Education & Experience:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:
- Experience in developing 3D or AR/VR applications or games.
- Familiarity with iOS frameworks such as ARKit, UIKit, Metal, Core Motion, etc.
- Knowledge of other AR SDKs like ARCore, Vuforia, or similar tools.
- Proficiency with Unity, Unreal, or similar 3D engines.
- Experience with 3D content creation tools like Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, etc.
- Excellent understanding of practical applications of 3D math and linear algebra.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specified range.

This allows for growth as you advance in your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Eligible employees may receive discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
