Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist provides critical respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, airway management, aerosol medication administration, chest physical therapy, routine and advanced oxygen therapy, blood gas acquisition and analysis, pulmonary function testing, electrocardiogram acquisition and management, code blue and rapid response participation, neonatal resuscitation support at high-risk infant deliveries, ventilator patient transport, and respiratory-focused patient teaching.
Responsibilities- Provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages, including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
- Manage airways and administer aerosol medications as needed
- Perform chest physical therapy and routine oxygen therapy
- Acquire and analyze blood gas samples
- Conduct pulmonary function testing and electrocardiogram acquisition and management
- Participate in code blue and rapid response situations
- Provide neonatal resuscitation support at high-risk infant deliveries
- Transport patients on ventilators
- Teach patients about respiratory care and disease management
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy (preferred)
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (required)
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 1 year of hire)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within 1 year of hire)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required within 1 year of hire)
