Key Responsibilities:
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that medications and supplies are accurately dispensed and delivered in a timely manner. Your responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently selecting and preparing medications for dispensing.
- Providing excellent customer service by answering phone inquiries with professionalism.
- Delivering medications and supplies promptly to designated areas.
- Compounding sterile products while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Maintaining proficiency with current pharmacy technologies.
- Performing basic compounding and calculations accurately.
- Staying updated with contemporary pharmacy practices and knowledge.
- Coordinating schedule availability with management.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives.
- Managing Automated Dispensing Cabinet operations.
- Embracing feedback for personal and professional growth.
- Completing mandatory training and licensing requirements independently.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in pharmacy or a related healthcare field is preferred.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) is required.
- Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA) is necessary.
- National Certification must be obtained within two years of hire.
