Job Summary

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a tenure-track position in the area of artificial intelligence/machine learning driven computational approaches to challenges in cellular engineering, with a focus on human health applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI/ML and cellular engineering, with a demonstrated record of academic achievement and a commitment to high-quality teaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities
  • Developing an innovative research program in AI/ML driven cellular engineering approaches
  • Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomedical Engineering
  • Mentoring graduate students and supervising their research
  • Participating in departmental and university faculty governance
  • Participating in outreach and service in industry and government
  • Contributing to professional and public services
Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related field, with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching appropriate for the appointment level. Associate and Full Professor candidates must possess experience and scholarly credentials that meet the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and of the College of Engineering.
