Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough audits and reviews of loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and agency guidelines.
- Evaluate credit risk associated with wholesale mortgage lending activities, including loan origination and underwriting.
- Determine risk tolerance levels and monitor credit exposures to ensure adherence to established risk, potential fraud, compliance issues, and minimize exposure.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues found during the QC process while adhering to investor and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and maintain quality reports and metrics to track QC performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage lending, with a focus on quality control or auditing, including knowledge of investor guidelines and regulatory and agency guidelines.
- Strong understanding of federal and state laws impacting mortgage lending and servicing, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, RESPA, the Fair Housing Act, the Homeowners Protection Act, and predatory lending laws.
