Nurse Practitioner

As a skilled Registered Nurse 2, you will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills and utilize critical thinking to identify and meet patient needs. Your goal will be to achieve positive patient outcomes through effective group process and display leadership traits that contribute to the attainment of patient and departmental goals. You will also assist with unit QI/research projects and identify actual legal/ethical issues, implementing appropriate nursing actions.
Responsibilities
1. Patient Care: You will consistently use the nursing process in daily practice and manage more complex patients with minimal assistance.2. Knowledge and Skills: You will identify personal learning needs to be competent in your area of practice and independently perform advanced skills. You will also begin to assist others to develop skills using the teaching/learning process.3. Professional Relationships/Leadership: You will initiate and effectively demonstrate behaviors that result in positive patient outcomes through group process. You will also identify the need to change your own practice based on PI/QI outcomes.4. Quality Improvement/Research: You will expand your understanding of the research process and its specific application to nursing practice.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)You must possess and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically, you must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
Common Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain and document all applicable required education.2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.3. Comply with the company's attendance policy.4. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.5. Perform work in a cost-effective manner.6. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations.7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization.8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.9. Perform related duties as assigned.
Education
Associate's Degree (Required) Experience: 1 Year of RN experienceSubstitution: May substitute Formal Nursing Program for the Associate Degree
