Five County Credit Union seeks enthusiastic individuals who enjoy engaging with others, are eager to learn, and are committed to personal and professional development.

This role requires regional travel between branches.

No prior experience is necessary. Comprehensive training will be provided.

The selected candidate will deliver a variety of services aimed at fulfilling our members' financial needs, focusing on transactions, new account openings, and introductory loan processing. Responsibilities include addressing member inquiries regarding products and services while identifying opportunities to promote additional offerings and assist members with their financial matters. The incumbent will contribute to the credit union's growth objectives, foster relationships with members, and assess new account applications.

While successful candidates should exhibit professionalism, attention to detail, and reliability, we will provide training for daily operational skills, including record maintenance, confidentiality, compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and referring beneficial products and services to our members, along with performing other duties as required.

Flexibility is essential. The operational hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All locations are closed on Sundays. This is a full-time position that includes benefits. We are open on most holidays, and employees who work on holidays will receive double time. The company observes Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, and employees will not be required to work on these holidays. Saturday shifts are assigned on a rotating basis.

The ideal candidate will possess a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor. Being people-oriented, helpful, and adaptable to new ideas and changes is crucial. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are mandatory. Basic math and computer skills are required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of a FINANCIAL SERVICE ASSOCIATE:

  1. Ensure efficient and accurate execution of front-line operations and account functions, including transaction processing and new account services for members.
  2. Proactively identify and successfully cross-sell products and services that enhance the financial well-being of members.
  3. Exhibit the ability to competently perform all functions and responsibilities expected of a Service Associate 2.
  4. Accurately prepare and open new consumer accounts, gather and verify required documentation for each account type, and onboard new members with a suite of products.
  5. Process account applications in compliance with credit union policies, including performing all necessary regulatory verifications.
  6. Assist members with various account requests, resolutions, and inquiries, including adding or removing account owners, making account changes, and setting up services.
  7. Capable of opening and closing sub-accounts, including certificates, money markets, clubs, and SHIP accounts, while explaining the features and benefits to members.
  8. Open and clarify the features of tax-advantaged accounts such as IRAs and HSAs.
  9. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform introductory loan functions, such as entering loan applications and discussing general rates and terms with members.
  10. Assist with balancing, posting, troubleshooting, and auditing of ATMs, ITMs, and cash recyclers.
  11. Maintain knowledge of the payroll process for direct deposits and payroll deductions.
  12. Exhibit the ability to independently locate and utilize available resources when resolving common member issues.
  13. Refer non-standard transactions or issues to the supervisor for assistance.
  14. Respond positively to changes in organizational needs while performing all other tasks as required.

All essential functions are performed in an office setting. Temperatures in the climate-controlled office may fluctuate. The work area may be noisy due to multiple member transactions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees may not be able to easily leave the work area unless for a scheduled break.
