Job Title: Speech Pathologist

At the Medical College of Wisconsin, we are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary clinical care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional direct evaluation and intervention services to patients with cognitive-communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address patients' cognitive, speech, voice, and swallowing needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other team members to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on communication strategies and cognitive strategy support.
  • Promote quality improvement initiatives across the BRAVE Program by emphasizing the importance of cognitive functioning, auditory-related problems, and communication.
  • Participate in small group projects focused on program development, quality improvement, and continuing education.

  • Ability to problem-solve, use good judgment, and work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to search and critically review best evidence to guide clinical decision-making and effectively share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Ability to set objectives, establish priorities, and follow initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with moderate to high levels of stress.
  • Current knowledge of or willingness to learn about military culture.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with minimal direction and maintain a well-organized work environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to work with a variety of applications.
