Essential Qualifications
Educational Background: Doctorate (PhD or MD) in a relevant field.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in basic or translational research specifically related to respiratory health.
- Proven expertise in acute lung injury and inflammatory conditions.
- Proficient laboratory skills in molecular biology pertinent to research applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in basic or translational research within the respiratory domain.
- Background in teaching and mentoring students and faculty.
- Experience in securing extramural grant funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee respiratory-focused basic and translational research as a Principal or Co-Investigator.
- Provide training and education to students, residents, fellows, and faculty in a research context.
- Secure funding through extramural and internal grants to support research activities.
- Mentor and assess students, fellows, and faculty, while engaging in weekly educational sessions.
- Represent the University at national and international conferences through scholarly presentations and publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
