About the Role:

The Legal Counsel will play a critical role in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating construction contracts with clients, partners, subcontractors, and vendors. This position will work closely with senior legal staff and operations management to ensure effective dispute resolution and provide guidance to managers and project managers on change management, risk, and protect rights and entitlements for relief.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and draft construction contracts, including EPC agreements, construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, joint venture agreements, consortium agreements, major equipment contracts, memoranda of understanding, and nondisclosure agreements.
  • Provide legal support and guidance to managers and project managers on change management, risk, and protect rights and entitlements for relief.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain records necessary to ensure effective dispute resolution.
  • Work on a variety of legal matters, including Civil Litigation, Labor & Employment, Public Company Governance, Securities & Exchange, Risk Management, and Personal Injury matters.
Requirements:
  • 1-3+ years of construction law experience.
  • Law degree required. Licensed to practice law in at least 1 United States, state jurisdiction.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to work within a team environment with a collaborative approach and a business-minded focus to support operations.
  • Knowledge of construction and contract law, including contract methods and key risk-shifting provisions, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels and across all functions within the company.

  • Salary $90,000-$120,000/ year, commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
